In 2010 András Gyekiczki, a lawyer, was eager to find out more about the people who had lived in Pápa, Hungary before the war. He began to collect photographs of the survivors’ descendants and documents related to the town’s past. His team ultimately collected more than 500 photographs from the pre-war period, which include family photos, portraits taken outdoors or in studios, and images of the town’s social events.
Forgotten Neighbors displays the richness of small town Jewish life through complete family stories. We gain a unique glimpse into the past as we learn how Count Esterházy supported the construction of the town’s synagogue, and who the most beautiful girl was in the 1930s - and who was in love with her.
LAMOTH is pleased to host this amazing exhibit for its first showing outside of Hungary. It is co-sponsored by The Mensch Foundation International, which was founded by Steve Andras Geiger and is active in Hungary, the U.S. and Israel. Mr. Geiger is especially looking for survivors or children of survivors from Pápa, Hungary. You can reach him at geigersa@gmail.com or call 760 416 3685.

I believe in you and in your destiny, our destiny. I believe you are contributors to this
civilization. You have inherited from
your forefathers an ancient dream of freedom… to speak, to pray, to congregate,
a prophecy which you can proudly lay down as a gift of gratitude upon the lap
of America
and the world. You are life’s prayer of
becoming and its answer to peace.
To give beyond reason, to care beyond hope, to love without limit, to
reach, stretch and dream, in spite of our fears, these are the hallmarks of
divinity, traits of the immortal.
You have already changed the course of history, because you “showed up.” That means to the community, to the nation,
to the world, you care… to stand shoulder to shoulder in relentless strength.
Then we become a group of individuals... a harmonious whole. Then we have reached as high as humans can
reach to ensure a healthy and secure way of life, as it was in the beginning,
surrounded with beauty for all to breathe in and give calm and peace to the
heart.
I wish and declare the day will come soon when the lambs and wolves,
regardless of religion or race, will walk hand in hand in peace.
We are summoned to service, to bestow our blessings of just, peace and
love for all humanity. Imprint this in
your heart. It only takes one person to
switch the consciousness of humanity for goodness… and that person is you.
And the world will stand still, the bells will toll for the love of liberty, just and peace and when you,we, have reached the mount, stretch your hands and eyes towards the heavens and say 3 trillion thank yous. Shout Halleluiah and you will feel a presence that says - and so it shall be.
And the world will stand still, the bells will toll for the love of liberty, just and peace and when you,we, have reached the mount, stretch your hands and eyes towards the heavens and say 3 trillion thank yous. Shout Halleluiah and you will feel a presence that says - and so it shall be.

Thank You Notes
“Thank you so much to Estherleon and Ivor for your beautiful
Music and inviting the wonderful crowd of people, Pasqual (Bettio) for
photographing this exhibit and Carmelita (Pittman) for writing about it, to all
artists for creating their art and to all who came to our exhibit and created
the powerful energy of love and light at the International Women's Day celebration
Day!” - Lark Larisa Pilinsky
Carmelita Pittman wrote: “What a wonderful art exhibit held in West Hollywood. Congratulations to the United Nations Association and Lark Gallery. I loved the original music produced by Ivor (Pyres) and Cantor Estherleon (Schwartz) which I heard in the sitting room; Debby's round, vinyl collage, hard edge paintings; Larisa's impressionistic images; Sandra Cooper's fluid figurative couple of paintings, and I wound up singing a "spirit" song to Sandra who had an assemblage piece that had a female figure which could spin around. I saw Ivor, Barbara Tebyani, Mike Diamond & Mandy in attendance.”
